Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Activities at Ellen Sharma Group of Schools
At Ellen Sharma Group of Schools, we are committed to the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. These activities are integrated into our daily routines and educational programs, encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices and make a positive impact on the environment.
1. Waste Reduction
We prioritize minimizing waste production by promoting mindful consumption. Students are educated on the importance of reducing waste through various classroom activities and projects. We have implemented digital platforms to reduce paper usage and encourage bringing reusable lunch containers and water bottles.

2. Reuse Initiatives
Our reuse initiatives include creative projects that turn everyday items into useful or artistic creations. Students participate in upcycling workshops where they transform old materials into new products, such as using plastic bottles to create planters or making art from scrap paper.

3. Recycling Programs
Recycling is a cornerstone of our environmental efforts. We have designated recycling bins throughout the campus for paper, plastics, and other recyclable materials. Students are involved in sorting and managing these materials, learning the importance of proper waste segregation.
4. Eco-Bricks and Composting
We encourage students to create eco-bricks by stuffing non-recyclable plastic waste into plastic bottles, which are then used in various construction projects. Additionally, our composting program teaches students how to convert organic waste into nutrient-rich compost, which is used in our school gardens.
5. Awareness Campaigns
To spread awareness about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling, we organize regular campaigns and events. These include poster competitions, environmental assemblies, and guest lectures from sustainability experts. Students also engage in community outreach to educate others about sustainable practices.

6. Sustainable Art Projects
Art projects that focus on using recycled materials are a regular feature in our curriculum. These projects help students understand the value of materials and the creative possibilities in repurposing items that might otherwise be discarded.
By embedding these activities into our school culture, Ellen Sharma Group of Schools not only educates students about the importance of environmental stewardship but also empowers them to take actionable steps toward a more sustainable future.
